Executive Team

Brett Lyons

Co-CIO and Managing Partner

Brett serves as Co-CIO and Managing Partner of VenHedge. He oversees VenHedge's manager selection process and global investment activities. Prior to VenHedge, Brett served five years at Ernst & Young (EY) as a financial statement auditor, where he specialized in multi-strategy hedge funds. His client base at EY ranged from emerging hedge funds to global multibillion-dollar asset managers. Brett graduated with a Masters in Accounting from Saint Mary's College of California (2015) and a B.S. in Agribusiness from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (2014).

Grant Lyons

Co-CIO and Portfolio Manager

Grant serves as Co-CIO and Portfolio Manager of Dispersion, the firm's internally managed centerbook. He oversees security selection and portfolio construction for Dispersion, as well as tail hedging strategies across the broader VenHedge platform. Prior to VenHedge, Grant served at Charles Schwab in San Francisco, where he held both Series 7 and 65 licenses. He graduated with a B.S. in Business from Northeastern University (2019), with a concentration in Finance.

Joel Jung

Chief Financial Officer

Joel serves as Chief Financial Officer of VenHedge, overseeing financial reporting, the monthly close process, and all day-to-day finance and accounting operations. He manages internal controls, budgeting, cash management, audit coordination, and firmwide financial operations. With over 25 years of senior finance experience, Mr. Jung has previously served as CFO of Minerva Surgical, Counsyl, Bionano Genomics, and AgraQuest, where he helped lead its acquisition by Bayer CropScience. Mr. Jung began his career at Chiron after earning an MBA in Finance from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University.

Jake Woodlee

Chief Technical Consultant

Mr. Woodlee leads software engineering, systems design, and automation efforts for VenHedge. He works on a consultancy basis to design and build technology solutions spanning trading infrastructure, portfolio management systems, risk dashboards, and hedging program automation. Mr. Woodlee brings deep experience in high-reliability software engineering from his roles at Metal and Raytheon.

Michael Ashby

Senior Advisor

Mr. Ashby advises on matters ranging from risk management and manager selection to capital formation, manager diligence, and partnerships. Alongside VenHedge, Mr. Ashby currently serves as CIO and CEO of AlgoQuant, a multi-manager alternative investment firm specializing in strategies in the digital assets space.

Siddhant Jain Jaiswal

Provisional Trustee

Mr. Jaiswal serves as Co-Trustee of VenHedge, where he oversees key accounting oversight functions and provides operational continuity in the event of a key-person scenario. He brings more than a decade of experience in alternative investments, fund accounting, and audit, including senior roles at EY focused on hedge funds and venture capital funds across global markets.
